The bushes around these lochans were full of Stonechats, chinking away to each other in the strengthening sunshine.

Rejoining the trail, we find a nice, clear turf path, coming presumably from Carinish.

Berneray octopus salad, with the perhaps slightly unusual but unexpectedly successful addition of gherkins. I always have gherkins with my octopuses now.
There may have been no hot drinks in the Calmac terminal but somebody had left e a very useful Cliff Richard DVD.
